About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.

Back in town, but not for long

I got back from the conference last night and slept a whole lot.  The whole trip was pretty exhausting, between all of the talks and my final exams and meeting people that are good to know in my field.  I … Continue reading

December in Pasadena

…is very warm. Except it does get cold at night, and in the morning, and when it rains (which is more frequent than I was led to expect! But not as frequent as in Boston). Jon and I took my … Continue reading

Done!

At least done with assignments – I just turned in my last problem set.  I still have three take-home finals to do sometime next week during the conference, so that’s kinda lame, but oh well.  I think I’ll take the … Continue reading

So much for being a real person…

It’s official – I’m just a robot that does homework.  I’m so glad the week is over, although I wouldn’t mind more time between now and finals.  I really need to study all weekend.  There wasn’t any time this week … Continue reading

Learn Faster!

Wow, they’re really laying it on thick these last two weeks. I’m just trying to keep up, and find time to study for finals…and finish the problem sets and projects…and think about Mercury. Eep. Otherwise, I’m really boring right now … Continue reading

Mosaic Project

Yay! Finally…not exactly in time for Halloween, but oh well. I think it came out well =) I decided to carry it on after all, and I think that was the right thing to do. Happy Thanksgiving!

And…break.

I’m done! At least with all the pre-Thanksgiving stuff. I’ll have plenty to worry about when I get back and a little to worry about while I’m gone. Things are going all right. My second project idea (Jupiter atmosphere stuff) … Continue reading

Silly Excel + Lazy Weekend

Yesterday I started the third (unfairly assigned) problem set for Ge 101 (right after turning in the second one), which is due on Wednesday.  The third question is about the measurements made of the Vostok ice core that led to … Continue reading
