First day of class…

…was yesterday, and it was fine. We’ll see how the rest of my classes are today. I’m a little miffed that my continuum mechanics class is asking for extra classtime to catch up on lectures. I already have too much time in class. I’m excited about my planetary formation class, although I think it will be really hard. Oded’s seminar is this morning, so we’ll see how that goes soon. Hopefully it won’t add too much work.

On a lighter note, Holly’s visiting next weekend! Yay! I have to come up with some fun things to do without a car. I think there’s a play that would be fun to see at the Pasadena Playhouse, so I have to find out about their student discounts. The play’s called “Orson’s Shadow,” and it’s about Orson Welles and Laurence Olivier – not quite a Shakespeare play, but tangentially related…

And Caltech theater arts is doing some kind of play the third quarter! So maybe I’ll audition in February, depending on what the play turns out to be. *fingers crossed* that it’s something I’ll like!

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
