One of my goals for the beginning of the new quarter was to find my second research project before the end of January, and it looks like I’ve got one! I’ll be looking at data from Cassini (and *maybe* New Horizons?) of Jupiter’s atmosphere, trying to get a good estimate of the eddy momentum flux in the main jets and maybe looking at different filters to get some info about how the winds vary with altitude. I’m not sure yet how the timing is going to work out with the two projects and classes, but the older grad students all say “that’s what the summer’s for,” so I guess that means I should worry less about it now and prepare myself for a rather stressful summer…
