Second project in the works

One of my goals for the beginning of the new quarter was to find my second research project before the end of January, and it looks like I’ve got one!  I’ll be looking at data from Cassini (and *maybe* New Horizons?) of Jupiter’s atmosphere, trying to get a good estimate of the eddy momentum flux in the main jets and maybe looking at different filters to get some info about how the winds vary with altitude.  I’m not sure yet how the timing is going to work out with the two projects and classes, but the older grad students all say “that’s what the summer’s for,” so I guess that means I should worry less about it now and prepare myself for a rather stressful summer…

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
