Chilling out at home

I got home Sunday morning after a red-eye flight and stayed up all day to try and get used to the time zone change (which didn’t really work).  It’s been nice to be home and talk to my parents and play with the dog.  I’ve been catching up on my reading too, which is pretty relaxing.  I just got a biography of Cicero that I’m reading by Anthony Everitt, and it’s quite good.  That’s saying something because I’m not good at reading non-fiction at all, so it has to be pretty engaging.  Also, today I found a Manga version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet (and a couple of other plays too), where they didn’t paraphrase the language!  I’m not at all surprised that something like that has appeared, but I saw a different version earlier that had paraphrased everything, and that seemed pretty worthless to me.  I had lunch with my dad and his colleagues at work today, which was fun, and I got to drive around and try and remember how to get places that I haven’t had to get to on my own for five years.  Fun!

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
