Being a tourist

I picked up my sister and her boyfriend from the airport yesterday, and we went to see the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  It was fun, although I kinda thought the aquarium would be bigger.  I’m doing all right driving I think, but I haven’t run into really bad traffic at all yet.  It is a lot easier to get around with a car.  I have my grandparents’ car until tomorrow sometime.  Today we were going to go to Venice Beach to walk along the boardwalk, but the weather actually looks pretty gloomy and chilly (grr), so I’m not sure what we’ll end up doing there exactly.

Amanda brought me back a couple of things from Spain, which is really cool.  A pretty clay breadbasket, the Spanish version of Runts (candy), and a coke bottle with a label in Arabic from Morocco, heh.  And some Spanish saffron for Jon.  Neat!

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
