I guess I can say with confidence now that Tuesdays are the worst night of the week. I have problem sets for 2 classes regularly due Wednesday and Thursday, so I’m trying to get them both done (currently the Thursday pset takes more work/thought than the Wednesday pset, so I have to start earlier, or else go back to my sophomore-year-way-of-doing things, which involves waiting until the last minute and then getting no sleep…no thanks..). My other two classes seem to have random due dates for assignments, sometimes more closely spaced than one week (!) and sometimes less. All four have not yet (knock on wood!) ganged up on me, but I can see it coming. That will be a sucky week.
I was trying to get into the habit of finishing homework early so I would have time to think about Mercury more later in the week…but so far I’ve just ended up thinking about hw all week and then I’m too mentally tired on Friday to make much progress. There has to be a way to manage this =(.
In other news, I went to a seminar today in a small lecture hall I’d never been in, and decided it would be *perfect* for a Scene Night. Maybe I’ll organize one later. Maybe I’ll come to my senses and realize that no one has time for that, not even me =(.
Also, I learned yesterday that there is actually a difference between saying “I shall” and saying “I will” (besides the fact that no one says “shall”). Apparently “I shall” implies obligation and “I will” implies choice, so that in 19th-century English novels, “shall” is normally used, and “will” is only used when the heroine refuses to marry the awful suitor. Note that the usage is reversed for all other persons (i.e. we, he/she, you).
This post is longer than I had anticipated…*sigh* back to work.
