A Morning of Collisions

It’s been sort of a strange morning…I got to work late(r than usual) because I wanted to run a few errands before it got really hot (almost too late for that anyway). On my way back from exchanging something at Target (which was open at 8am!) I saw a fender-bender happen at an intersection (one car ran the red light). And just now a pigeon flew into the window in my office…it seems fine, but it’s still out there, wandering around on the sidewalk looking stunned (which, incidentally, is about how I feel as I try to remember/learn how to program in C).

Addendum: I went back home for lunch, and a package from my parents had arrived! There isn’t  much that’s better than opening a box of homemade cookies from mom…and also a stuffed walrus (cute!). Still counts as a strange morning.

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.

oh, the stuffed walrus, how I could have ruined the surprise of his arrival in California………….. I would never take away the element of surprise from you though, haha. And seriously listen to my tip about the cookies… homemade cookies from home is always good, but if you can score another batch, always go for it!

Hm yeah…although if I ask for more cookies, I might be overloaded with snickerdoodles soon. They’re the only kind I can make at the moment because I haven’t gotten around to buying a rolling pin yet…I think I have everything else though..
