Caltech grad student (TBA)…that’s me!

Hehe I’m in the grant proposal (sort of):

4. Roles and responsibilities of personnel

[Dr. Williams] will lead the modeling effort and together with the graduate student, perform the tasks outlined in this proposal.

Caltech graduate student – (TBA) will assist in performing the tasks outlined in this proposal.”

Sounds exciting, eh?

On an other note entirely, I had lunch with Jack Wisdom and his grad student today. He’s been on sabbatical here from MIT since January, so I saw him when I visited in March and did a double-take. I’d just finished his crazy Lagrangian/Hamiltonian classical mechanics course. I guess he’s going back soon, with a stop at Berkeley first. I always thought he was kind of awkward to talk to, because he’s very soft-spoken and incredibly smart (and aptly named), but really he’s like the nicest person ever. I asked him what he’s going to do at Berkeley, and he said he doesn’t know yet, except for sitting. There will be sitting.

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
