Launching…supermeg!

Welcome to the first post on the first blog I’ve ever had! It’s a little bit daunting, to be honest. I’ve never really been interested in creating one of these things before, but I just moved to California to start 5-6 years of grad school, and my ability to keep in touch with people across any sort of distance, well, really sucks. So, desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose. It’s only gonna work, though, if the people I know actually read it and post comments, so please do! Or else I’ll stop updating it and probably zone out for months at a time and not talk to any of you, and I’d rather that didn’t so much happen. By the way, I didn’t choose the title ‘supermeg.’ Jon did, and I haven’t changed it because all my creative juices are being squandered at the moment on finding a summer research topic =). Any suggestions for a better one?

Anyway, I moved into my grad apartment suite place, and things are looking good so far. A lot is still up in the air, and there’s a ton of little things that I have to do still before the school (and I) recognize that I’m really a student here.

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.

Oh, but remember the Tempest program, where Sabrina said she wanted a Meg action figure?

  2. meg says:

Oh yeah! Wow, I’d completely forgotten about that. That’s because googlism.com told me that I’m not really an action figure, although I am apparently terrorizing wildlife and humans all over the Pacific =)
