Where did the weekend go?

Into neat geology and desert beauty, for the most part.  And also sunburn and muscle aches (the legitimate kind – there was plenty to eat).  It was really fun for a class field trip – no need to frantically write down details and sketch outcrops before moving on, like the Ge101 trip.  Just discussions of the geology and remote sensing and Mars analogs and Mars itself, etc.  I’ll try to put up some pictures tonight.

In the meantime, though, I have to convince myself that it’s really Monday.  As predicted, I didn’t get any homework done.  Luckily this coming week is lighter on problem sets than last week was.  I think I have to drop my Latin class finally, or else just go once a week or something.  I can’t keep up with the homework, and for the most part we just go over translations in class, so it’s kind of sad to be there not having done anything.

I talked more to a girl in my class in Aero/Astro who’s MIT class of 05 I think, and we knew some people in common and commiserated about long hours doing homework on the fourth floor of the student center (the SEDS office for her, ensemble’s for me of course).  It was fun to chat =)  MIT students seem to pop up everywhere here…

About meg

I think planets are cool! I'm a new graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech, and at the moment I'm interested in planetary geophysics of terrestrial planets and moons. I'm originally from Cortlandt Manor, NY, and I did my undergrad at MIT, where I got heavily involved in student theater - a hobby I hope to continue through grad school, time permitting... I also like to read sci-fi/fantasy novels, obsess about English history, and play frisbee.
